Dr. Priscilla J. Hopkins

Dr. Priscilla J. Hopkins, DNP, BSN, RN, Chief Nursing Officer, was born in Iowa. The family moved in 1953 to Oklahoma when she was 18 months of age. Having lived on the family farm for over 72 years, Dr. Hopkins married her childhood friend, neighbor, and playmate, Ronnie in 1979. They have five daughters and seven grandchildren. Dr. Hopkins, Ronnie, and fourth daughter, Molly, moved to Casper September 2022 for two years while Dr. Hopkins finished her doctoral education here in Casper, only to return to Oklahoma September 2024. Accepting the position of Chief Nursing Officer, only she and her husband moved back to Casper April 2025.

Dr. Hopkins began her education in a one-room country school, being one of two first graders. Transferred to the Craig county seat of Vinita in second grade, graduated 1969. Furthering her education, she attended N. E. O. A&M College of Nursing’s second graduating class in 1976, earning her Associat Degree in Nursing. She went on to work in all facets of nursing, from operating room, home health, clinics, including psychiatric nursing for over 40 years. Striving to advance her education, Dr. Hopkins attended Oklahoma Wesleyan University’s RN to BSN program, graduating Cum Laude August 2019. In August of 2019, she continued to pursue further advancement by participating in the Oklahoma Wesleyan University School of Health and Science’s Inaugural BSN-DNP graduation class of 2024.

Receiving her Doctor of Nursing Practice in Executive Leadership, graduating with Honors was conferred on August 25, 2024, having completed her DNP Practice Immersion Project in Casper, Wyoming, during her residency. Dr. Hopkins was selected by the Oklahoma Nurses Association as one of their poster presenters at their three-day state convention held in September 2024 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Her project was titled "Impact of Education Frequency on Opioid Use and Naloxone Administration in Clinic Settings.” Dr. Hopkins is a member of the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN), the American Nurses Association, the National Association of Chemical Dependency Nurses, the Oklahoma Nurses Association, and the Wyoming Nurses Association.
